Barunga Church Refurbishment

Client: Jawoyn Association
Scope: Community church upgrade and refurbishment

Located in the remote Aboriginal community of Barunga in the Northern Territory, the local church is a key gathering place and an important cultural and spiritual hub. Dundee Rock was engaged by the Jawoyn Association to refurbish and upgrade the facility in a way that respected its role in the community.

The works included painting, interior upgrades, carpentry repairs and general refurbishment to improve the functionality and appearance of the space. Importantly, we prioritised local engagement—employing community members and working closely with Traditional Owners throughout the project.

This project reflects Dundee Rock’s commitment to building lasting relationships and delivering outcomes that go beyond the physical structure—supporting cultural continuity and community pride.
